« on: Monday 07 November 11 16:39 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I am trying to discover some thing about an Ann Hobbs, her date of birth or baptism. if she had siblings and or who her parents were.
What i have to work with is limited and is this:
She was born abt 1804 in March, Cambridgeshire ( according to a census)
Married a William Woodcock 1824 in/near Watton in Norfolk.  Her children were born there.

So help to find this Ann Hobbs and her early years etc would be welcomed.

The Cambridge FHS has a searchable database which includes baptisms from 1801 - 1837, and they have the following all to Abraham and Elizabeth:

1807 Abraham
1807 Abraham (28 days)
1804 Ann
1811 Elizabeth (21 days)
1809 Martha

Hello Brenda & Jan

Thank you for the info, you've both been most kind.
May i ask if the records you've used identifies Abrahams surname, or for that matter anythink about him. Some baptism records i have found for other relatives in other parts of the country have mentioned things such as the surname, occupation and even the date of birth of the baptised child.
(surname enquiry is in case child is "out of wedlock")

I have to add that the 1804 date i gave for Ann is based on a census record and NOT from confirmed family history etc and a previous attempt by me found mention (on other site) of an Ann christened 12 Jan 1803 and with mother named Susan
Also an Ann b.03 Aug 1805 Soham, Camb dau. of James Hobbs & Mary West

Ladies as i said earlier, thank you for your help and the time taken to give it.

John.

Hi,

The 1804 baptism is as posted;  I would assume that Ann is the daughter of Abraham and Elizabeth Hobbs.
