Bellie MIs
« on: Thursday 10 November 11 11:56 GMT (UK) »
Can anybody tell me if the Bellie MI book contains deaths in the 1900s.  I am looking for a James Hardie who died in 1920 and according to his obituary which I requested from Libindx he is buried in Bellie Churchyard.

I am particularly interested to see if any other names are mentioned on the grave stone.

James had been an ostler and a coachman.  According to the obituary he was the last driver of the Earl of Fife coach from Portsoy to Fochabers.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Betty

Thanks for your reply.

The person I am looking for does not appear to be listed.  I may phone the lairs department and see if they can help.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Hi Betty,

The Bellie MI book goes right up to about 2005.  Unfortunately there is no mention of your James either as HARDIE or HARDY.

Hi Christine

Thanks for your reply.
I only recently found that James was buried in Bellie Churchyard through an obituary in the Banffshire Advertiser.  I was hoping there would be a stone.  His first wife is in Urquhart churyard  he remarried.  I was hoping to find a clue as to what happened to his second wife.

Thanks again.

Where would I find the Bellie MI book?  Is it online someplace?

Thanks

Hi Scott,

I got mine from the Aberdeen and North East Scotland FHS.  http://www.anesfhs.org.uk/publocal.php  They sell to non-members.
