George Young - Bilton
« on: Friday 11 November 11 13:15 GMT (UK) »
I'm trying to trace the death of George Young.
On 1841 census he's shown as 13 years of age.  I believe him to be the father of Harriet Young who, in 1851 is aged 2 and living with George's parents William and Hannah but not George.

On Harriet's marriage certificate in 1883 he is listed as deceased and the wedding was in Bradford.  His occupation is listed as shoemaker.

I would appreciate any help in tracking him down, thank you

Looks like you need to find HArriett's birth to find who her mum was - then to find the marriage of George to whoever, and see from that if it is thr right George ie his father William, check occupations, and he would be a 'minor'.

Hello

Harriet Young's birth, was registered at Tadcaster / September qtr 1848 / vol 23 page 658

There is no sign of a marriage for a George Young until March qtr 1849 / Tadcaster / vol 23 page 596. There is a Sarah Walker on the same page, so I feel this is the couple who mirf has found on the 1851 census......

Just as a coincidence, there is the death of a Hannah Young, registered in the same qtr as Harriet's birth. Could it be her mum ?
