I found it on  -  http://familysearch.org

I have found children, also on that site, from both marriages:
the youngest child of 4 that I could find from Jonas/Fredrika is Johanna Seraphia Pehrsson b 8 Nov 1834 in Vate and the oldest child of 6 from Jonas/Hedvig is Carl Herman Jonsson b 13 Oct 1835 in Vate.
The naming is interesting in that in the first marriage the first child was female but named Blomberg, then 2 males named Pehrsson and finally a female also named Pehrsson. In the second marriage all the children are named Jonsson including 3 females.
It would appear that Fredrika died 1834/1835.

Hi Jan,
I have hit another little problem with patronymic names.

I was looking for the parents of Jonas Petter Blomberg b 9 aug 1806 and have found what looks like it could be him but he is Jonas Petter Nilsson b 9 Aug 1806 in Stenkumla, Gotland to parents Nils Blomberg and Anna Stina Persdotter. I believe that I have found another 7 children all with the patronymic Nilsson (all born in Vaskinde, Gotland) for this couple but the names of the parents are Nils Jonsson Blomberg and Sara Stina Persdotter.
As Jonas Petter married in Vaskinde this all seemed a possible fit.

I have had a good look on freesearch.org for the births and marriage of Nils Jonsson Blomberg/Nils Jonsson/Nils Blomberg/Sara Stina Persdotter/Anna Stina Persdotter/Stina Persdotter/Sara Persdotter. Unfortunately, no success.

Can you assist with this one?
Colin

Hi!

Haven't been on the computer mush lately, but this is what I found on Aug 9, 1806.

Hard for you to read?

yes. as I cannot speak Swedish it is more than difficult. I can only guess that
it is the birth/baptism of a son - Jonas Petter to Nils Blomberg and Sara Stina Persdotter.
I would appreciate your help with a translation.

Yes, you are quite right!

I can't read all the 200-year old Swedish squiggles myself, but it starts with:
(Something like)

On August 9 was born on Kviung' s grounds Cottager Nils Blomberg's legitimate son...

and, of course, mother's name, something about holy baptism (I think!) and the Godparents.

And, in the Household Record for Stenkumla, Kviung's ground I can read the following:

Cottager (Sw: Torpare) Nils Blomberg, b. 9/2-1778, Småland
His wife Sara Stina, b, 1776, Alsheda

Children:
Anna Stina, b 19/10-1802, Småland
Sara Lisa, b 3/6-1804
Jonas Petter, b 9/8-1806

This family moved to the parish 1805.

They further moved out 1807, I think it says to Visby...?

Could it be a match? I think it is quite possible that the children may have used both "Blomberg" and "Nilsson/Nilsdotter" as surnames...

I do appreciate that and it looks to me that this is the correct family .
I have found a Sara Elisabeth Nilsdotter b 3/6 1804 in Eskelhem,Gotland - father Nils Blomberg and mother Sara Stina Pahrsdoter.
I believe that Lisa is possibly just a shortened version of Elisabeth? Is Nils possibly a shortened version of a longer name?
The other children appear to have been born in Vaskinde which would seem to fit with what you have found them moving to Visby.

Hi again Colin & finally some time to have a look-up in Arkivdigital!

I can just confirm, found the birth 3/6-1804 in Eskelhem quite fast.

"Lisa" could pretty well be a short version of "Elisabeth".

..but I've never seen a longer version of "Nils".

("Nils" is sometimes translated to "Neil" in the Dictionaries...)
