Which Regiment ?

Hi there,
Just wondering if anyone as the slightest clue what regiment this may be ? ....the symbol on the hat, is about the only clue ?

The only thing I could suggest at the moment, because of the style of the head gear was that he was in south east Asia. There are a few sites with divisional and regimental patches, but the angle of the badge makes it quite hard to spot it.
Purvis/purves. conlon, carson. Birney, monaghan, moore. World war I/II. Raf.

Sorry Scrimnet, I'm not convinced he's RA. The colours on the diamond don't seem to be equally divided and for Artillery I would have expected a horizontal division between the red and blue.

There was a diamond shape thus in WW2...Just the x2 colours...

See book "The British Soldier in WW2" histoire and collections... ;)
