Your posting is open to misinterpretation and gives the incorrect impression that Scottish Mining have closed or blocked access to their site. Granted the link provided, if read in its entirety, clarifies the matter but often people don't read further than the headings. In this case perhaps a Thread title of "Direct Contact withdrawn" - Scottishmining would better explain the situation.

Thanks FALKYRN.

The point you raised has become more apparent, now that there has been more of a dialogue, between those of us who are concerned, and the providers of the service. Not being familiar with the site, my original title reflected my interpretation from this quote.... “ we have decided to shut off our contact details - we lose out on new information but it means we are not exposed to the small number of rude people who are causing us such upset.” .... End of quote.

I created this link because the Scotland forum gets more traffic than the Scotland Resources forum, and believe that the SCOTTISHMINING proprietors’ should get acknowledgment for the service they have provided. The last thing we need is another independent site closing down.

I fully agree with what you have said here and on the other thread.

Thanks to Scottish Mining I obtained information on two of my ancestors who were injured in mining accidents and the information they provide is second to none.

It is a sad day when a small minority ruin things for the rest of us.
