PASCOE, DEACON parents
« on: Thursday 24 November 11 10:31 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I'm looking for information on the parents of William PASCOE and Mary Ann DEACON.

From 1851 and 61 census:
William: b. circa 1826, Bishopsgate London, shoemaker.
Also, his wife, Mary Ann born c. 1828, St. Luke's Middlesex.

From London marriage and banns:
William Pascoe shoemaker married Mary Ann Deacon 11 June 1848, Christchurch Spitalfields.
Both living in King Street, Mary at no 1, at time of marriage.
Her father Thomas Deacon, sailor. His father John Pascoe, blacksmith.

I haven't been able to get access to the 1841 census - I don't know if there is more information there. I have also tried Family Search and FreeBMD, but no luck.

I also have information from another person's family tree. I have been unable to contact the person and would like to verify the information, especially as some of it does not make sense.
From this site:
John Pascoe, father of William: born 1793, London. Married Mary Ann Melvin (born 1798 London) on 12 Feb 1822, Shoreditch, London.

Thanks for any and all help,
CRodda.

Thankyou both for all your help :)
Suzard, can I ask, what does "transcribed age" mean? I don't quite understand.

Cheers,
CRodda.

the census image shows John Pascoe age 48 occ Smith - but the 4 is an "old fashioned "4 and kind of  disappears into the line - so when the transcribing (copying by hand or by typing) was done his age is entered (in error) as 18 . So  when looking at the index/transcriptions it can make it difficult to find the correct person.
