Oh and I almost forgot to add, his profession was a fisherman. It's normal for men in the northern eastern area to be fishermen.

Thank you for the information on the ship.

As for the link to James' death, I actually found that recently.

Is there any links or any information on William's death?

And the record for Jessie Smith's death was the correct one. She died 29/10/1915 at 2 Fordyce Street Rosehearty due to Rheumatoid Arthritis and was registered by her daughter-in-law Margaret Ritchie. Thanks for that Monica!

Looks like you are filling in the blanks Gerry which is great.

From earlier, I think this is the likely reference for William's death www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_details.aspx?casualty=3034045

A : MARY JANE RITCHIE, born in BANFF the 9 March 1870, was christened in ROSEHEARTY the 23 July 1881, died in ROSEHEARTY the 28 July 1943, married (1°) JAMES STRACHAN, the 4 September 1890 in FRASERBURGH (born in 1868 and died the 5 February 1896 in ROSEHEARTY),  (2°) WILLIAM RITCHIE, the 27 December 1900 in ROSEHEARTY (born the 20 March 1859 in ROSEHEARTY and died the 16 July 1916 in ROSEHEARTY, son of WILLIAM RITCHIE and ELIZABETH SIM).
She had 4 children :
-------------
B.1 : (1)  JESSIE STRACHAN, born in ROSEHEARTY the 16 October 1892, was christened in ROSEHEARTY the 1 January 1899, died the 1 May 1943, married PETER REID, the 8 January 1926.
-------------
B.2 : (2)  MARY JANE RITCHIE, born the 2 May 1902, was christened the 14 September 1902.
-------------
B.3 : (2)  ALEXANDER RITCHIE, born in 1905, died the 16 September 1986, married HELEN HUTCHISON, in 1936 (born in 1918 and died the 7 February 1975).
-------------
B.4 : (2)  ALFRED RITCHIE, born in 1910.

James and Marjory daughter Mrs Marjory Gunn and son were killed in 25 Pitsligo St along Mrs May Chalmers and her daughter, Mrs Chalmers baby son survived.  Peggy was another survivor and she was a niece.  Mrs May Chalmers is William Noble sister.  I presume Peggy was a daughter of Barbara Ritchie and William Noble making both Mrs Gunn and Mrs Chalmers her aunty.  The only thing I have on  Jessie Smith other 2 kids is 1911 census she has  9 kids 7 alive.

Wow, thanks for all of the information  ;D

I went to the ScotlandsPeople record house in Edinburgh yesterday and I got all of the full dates and anything else I needed.

Marjory and son James were found at approximately 3:00pm on 29th January 1942. They died from bomb wounds and were crushed by a large pile of debris.

I think I forgot to find any children to William McLeman Noble and Barbara Ritchie, but I did find their deaths. I couldn't find Barbara's birth, it may have been out of Scotland. She died 25/12/1933 in Woodend Hospital Aberdeen and William died 21/2/1949 88 Huntly Street, Aberdeen.

As for Mary Jane (born 2/5/1902) I have no clue as to what happened to her. She may have left Scotland.

Alexander and Helen Hutcheson had two children.

Helen died 7/2/1975 at 21 Dundarg Road, Rosehearty. I think she may have actually died in a fire as the cause of death listed smoke inhalation.

Alfred Ritchie was born 19/12/1909 at 2 Fordyce St. and died 25/2/1937 at 2 Fordyce St. He had no family.

Mary Jane Ritchie's second husband William's cause of death was cirrhosis of liver, so he may have been an alcoholic.

I checked the 1911 census for many of them, so I know the children they had.

Thanks,

Greg

Mary Jane Smith was born 09/03/1870 in Banff daughter of Jessie Smith.  She was baptised as a daughter of Alexander Ritchie and Jessie Smith in 1881.
