As part of a case of fraudulent exportation of guns (marked with the name of a gunsmith who did not make them) is mentioned:
In May, 1824, Mr Thomas Wm Sumner ordered of the defendant three guns and 37 cases, and requested his assistance in the exportation to the East Indies of these and some other articles, which he (Sumner) was about to purchase; that the defendant having acceded to this, Sumner afterwards sent to the defendent a variety of fowling pieces, pistols, and other articles, which were packed up and shipped upon the Pyramus, and that the shipment was paid for by Mr Sumner.
Could this be her father? 'M' and 'W' can be easily misread for each other in old registers:
