1871 census look up please
« on: Saturday 03 December 11 09:42 GMT (UK) »
Could someone please have a look for an Innes family in the 1871 census.

According to another thread on Roots web James was born c1837, Bellie. (I have still to prove I am on the same family)
Wife was Elspet (nee Williamson) born 1843, Urquhart.
They married in 1863 but Elspet died in July 1871.
Children were Jane born 1866, Urquhart and William born 1863, Urquhart.  There may have been more children??
I think James was an Agr. Labourer.
His father was a Shoemaker.
I believe Jane was married by 1887 to a James Annand and died in Pennsylvania.  I have no record of William after his birth in 1863.

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Betty

Hi Betty

Still looking for this 1871.....but meantime

Per Scotlands People search: James ANNAND & Jeannie INNES married 1886 in Bellie.
I think I see them in 1891 and 1901 in Banff, Banffshire. By 1901 a number of children including 2 sets of twins. Not sure if you have or need the full details of those? Jeannie (1891)/Jane (1901) was born abt 1867 Urquhart.

Cheers

Thanks for getting back to me.

It would be great if you could give me the details of what you have found in the UK censuses.

I have found from a tree on Ancestry some of the deaths of the Annand family.  They died in Pennsylvania and have also found the entries on the Find a grave site which confirms what is on Ancestry.

I have just checked out the Ellis Island site and find the family emigrated in 1916.  They were going to join a brother of James Annand.

Thanks for your help with this query.
