Thomas Partridge of Potton on 1841
« on: Saturday 03 December 11 17:10 GMT (UK) »
Hi. I've been looking for Thomas Partridge on 1841 census & cannot find him, perhaps someone out there may have better luck. He was buried at Potton St Marys on 2 Jan 1848 aged 64 - thus born 1784. I believe he is the Thomas Partridge son of William & Ann Partridge, who baptised a son of that name on 27 Jul 1776 at Potton & I have not found a subsequent burial. But a William & Ann Partridge, soldier baptised a Thomas on 30/6/1782 at Bedford St Pauls. Father William was in the Bedford militia, hece a soldier, & baptised 'of riper years' in Sharnbook in 1767. It'd be good to see 1841 entry to see what age he is & if there's any one else in his household. His wife Elizabeth was buried age 60 at Potton on 9 Jun 1837

Thanks John

Hi John

There is an entry at HO107 2/19  f 9 which may be your Thomas.

He is in Potton aged 55 and with James aged 25 and Elizabeth aged 25.

Indexed as Paltridge but look like Partridge to me.

If it helps, there is a Gravestock family living with them in 1841 and in 1851, these are named as 'father' and 'brother' - perhaps should be in-laws.

Hi, thanks Barbara & Heywood

I have in my notes that a James Partridge married Elizabeth Freeman Gravestock in July 1839 at Potton. James is most likely son of Thomas & Elizabeth baptised on 11 Aug 1816 at Potton
