HOLMES look up request

I found another tree that someone else is working on for the same family that could help explain a few things.

Henry & Maria had another daughter, Ruth b1838 & died Oct 1840, tragically killed by a road van at 2yrs 2 mnths.  This could explain Maria's absence from the family at this time.

The tree also shows Elizabeth married to William Dixon and a son Edwin b1863.  I wonder what the connection, if any, this has with Mary Holmes (Henry's neighbour on the 1861 census) who has 2 Dixon grandchilfren living with her.

There's also a marriage record (Latter Day Saints) for Henry & Maria Church for 18 Jul 1835.

Nothing new for my Edward Albert Holmes though

Hi Louise, Elizabeth and William H Dixon are almost next door to Henry and Maria on the 1871 RG12/1255/6/3

Hi Louise, the 2 Dixon grandchildren with Mary Holmes are the newly married William H Dixon and Elizabeth Holmes! Marriage William Dixon to Elizabeth Holmes June 1860 Hungerford 2c 412 census ref RG10/725/100/13, interestingly their child was an EDWIN b c 1864, so if Edward WAS the child of Elizabeths prior to marriage why call the next one almost the same name?

Elizabeth Holmes/Dixon is the Elizabeth aged 5 on the 1941 census then.  Mary Holmes nee Billet is her grandmother, Henry's mother.

That's brilliant.  I found the birth in the 4th quarter and have just ordered a birth certificate, hopefully there may be some more information.  I still can't find him on the 1861 census, which he must be on if he was born Nov 1860.

Hi Louise, on previous page you say you have them on 1861? on FindMyPast you can see the one I posted with Edwin/Edward HOMAR aged 5 months, on Ancestry they are HOMES, on same ref as the Mary and William/Eliza Dixon?

He pops straight up on the new family search ie Pilot Search

Hi again Louise, for what ever reason Ann his mother leaves him with her parents and marries a Thomas Giles in Dec 1861 Hungerford 2c 493 and has a child John Henry Giles in Dec 1862 Hungerford 2c 215, this is the family in 1871:-
