Hi Graham,

Did you speak to your uncle about my grandfather?

I did speak to him about it, but he could not remember him. His recall of his time in Palestine is very good, so he must have been in a different section.

Have you looked at the website fot the KOSB museum? It gives a link to a catalogue of their archives which might throw up something of interest.

Graham.

Hi there,
My father served in the KOSB in Palestine in 1946 - his national service.  I have a photograph which i will try to attach.

http://i46.tinypic.com/11b3k82.jpg[/IMG]

His name is Thomas Beveridge and i also remember him talking about the King David hotel. I think he was very near to it when the explosion happened.
He died in 1996  - i wished i had paid more attention to what he said about it  :(.
I have a medal awarded to him for this time - all men were entitled to it.
On the back of the photo it says
Amartya POW camp 21/8/46
I wiould like to know more about his posting there but have no idea where to start!

Regards,
Crayspond
