The 1911 census free search shows a Bessie Gilliland the right age listed as "overseas military"

A Mrs Bessie Gilliland and a number of children arrive from India in 1916 - heading for Keepers Cottage in Ditchlingham

A Samuel Gilliland is also listed as "overseas military"

There's a WWI medal card for a Samuel Gilleland in the RFA Lahore Division - enlisted 1902, discharged 1918

P.S. To the copyright editor,
I just wanted to say that I retyped the Ship name and transcribed the above info from the images. I do it like this because (other than the copyright issues) the images often give different details than the online transcriptions. I have amended my post to explain this.
Thanks for your PM.

Regards,
Daisy
