Hi,

Just curious - re the Parents Jessie Boyer and Thomas William Fiveash, are these the same people on the other two threads re Fiveash?

Somebody may have access to a school record which gives a parent's name (one which actually states "father" or "mother", rather than "guardian" of the child) ?    ;)

No sighting, the only school records with Thomas Wm Fiveash are for 1914 and mentioned I think from memory on one of the other threads.

Are you a member of NZSG?

They have a certificate for birth of Athol Ivan Joyce Fiveash, b Riverton 1914 in their Certs Collection.

John B

Yes, good spotting, John.   ;)

Can see no death (or marriage) registered in above "longer version" of name ... and no electoral roll listings either.

So looking likely to be the same "Ivan" as shown in the IGI (submitted) record.

Sunnylyn

1914  - WALLACE Electoral Roll

FIVEASH - Frederick Thomas William - bushman
FIVEASH - Jessie Thomson - married
FIVEASH - Thomas William

.... all living at Te Wae Wae  (Tewaewae - modern spelling ?)

ALSO ...

FIVEASH - Sarah - Spinster -- Orepuki

The nearest Registrar's office to Tewaewae / Orepuki, would appear to have been Riverton.

Hi,

There is an Ivan Fiveash who died in 1959 (burial locator also states another dod year as 1958) aged 42 ... this gives a birth year of 1916/1917.   Buried at Owaka Cemetery ....

Oops sorry Lu, just seen your comment on the 1958 death year earlier on,  blame it on the heat shower that is soon to arrive :D

I'm assuming that it is Jessie Thomson FIVEASH  born about 1868 who is thought to have been the mother of Ivan ?  If so, then she would have been about 46 / 47 years old at the time of his birth ?  [That age though doesn't necessarily rule her out of being his birth mother. ]

   ~  Lu

There is also a Jessie Fiveash buried at Owaka ..... died 1931 aged 62 also Frederick T W Fiveash .... died 1942 aged 49 which makes his birth about 1893
