Halletts Court, Tiverton
« on: Tuesday 10 May 05 14:24 BST (UK) »
Hi,

My Grandfather's wartime identity card has recently come into my custody and I've learnt that during 1944 he convalesced at 4 Halletts Court, Tiverton. His main residence was Homerton in London.

I think he "only" suffered shock, but I'd be interested to know more about this place and if anyone could enlighten me on the wartime policy for such sufferers - would it had been a private house comandeered, or would he have been just a boarder in a private house?

Many Thanks,

Ray

Hi
There were at least 2 Halletts Court's in Tiverton.
Going by house numbers the one your Grandfather stayed at was possibly Westexe south

I checked a 1947 Directory & found No 4 Halletts Court Mrs E Chidgey. No other details.
I do not think it's there now.

There was one in Barrington Street but the house number were all higher.
