Jolly Forgeman was where Alanby House now stands and the bungalows replaced the row of stone cottages on Jolly Bank. The short stretch at the top of the road is Cross Street with Short Lane and Middle street leading off it, Chapel Street and Hill Street meet at the start of Jolly Bank The pub seved the old forge down by the river and it is said there was a causeway for the can lad to use to being the men beer. old maps show Forge Row. Remember Park Road was the main road for Cefn Bychan.
