My great grandfather, Mark Thompson, was born in Wharram Percy around 1851.  His parents were William and Elizabeth.  His sister mary was born in WP too.  Can someone find the family in the 1851 census and mark in the parish records for me Thanks Ann K

Hi Ann

Do you have them in 1861?  Is it just 1851 you want?

Best wishes

Hi, I am quite confused about Wharram Percy. According to information it was deserted in 1517, yet, I have ancestors who are shown as being born there from the 1500s up into the 1700s.

I was wondering whether they did in fact come from some neighbouring village or villages? Does anyone have any comment on this?

Hi Jeanette,

Like you, this now has me intrigued.

And details for the dates and current locations of parish records, which include the later years when it was supposedly deserted :

Hello

I am intrigued too as my ancestors were born in Wharram Percy.  I received a message today stating that the subject had been taken off by Berlin-Bob!!!
