.. and now this!

Undated. View of the Woodpecker Inn on the junction of York Road and Burmantofts Street. Horse drawn vehicles can be seen moving along Burmantofts Street and Marsh Lane in the foreground. To the left is the Shoulder of Mutton Inn at no.241 Marsh Lane, beyond it, on Burmantofts Street, can be seen the Temperance Hotel. Tram lines are just visible in the bottom right of the photograph. The Woodpecker Inn shown here was closed and demolished in 1939. A new Woodpecker was built on the opposite corner but this has since been demolished for road alterations.


Off to Leeds Library to find out more. Anyone know anything about this spot?
