The Ancestry trees are of the correct Thomas Dealey Bruce...some believe he came from Bradford and some from Surrey.

Full title : CHRIST CHURCH, CAMBERWELL: OLD KENT ROAD, SOUTHWARK. This is the civil area and (CofE) parish that covers the area where the Bruce children lived and has a relationship to  places in all the census records. The only mention of Bradford I could find was a Sarah Bruce married there Dec. Qtr. 1837. My only advice would be to get the Birth Certificate of William Henry Mortlock 1841 and see if it gives any information. Sub-District for the Registration area on this birth is Christ Church, Southwark. A first name search for Thomas Dealey on familysearch.org only gives his marriage at St. James, West Melbourne, 12 May 1853.

Barry, that is a great idea re the birth certificate...thank you.

Shaun, those alternate spellings are both for our Thomas Dealey Bruce. He was a market gardener in Malvern/Prahran area.

Barry,
I have the certificate for the marriage at St. James, West Melbourne to Margaret Murphy. That was his first marriage. Margaret died in childbirth in 1863 and he then married Mary Ann Mawby...
