Thought I'd take a look at the 1851 census for henry and sarah and see if he had taken the name Robert but no such luck however a little tidbit for Sarah in the disability column.

Interesting about Sarah... it was William in the 1841 census!!

I wonder if the Victoria (Australia) death index 1915 would have his parents' names as some other parts of Australia do. Or even better would the death certificate give the parents' names. If the Informant knew of course!

According to Ancestry.com.au the only name on the death certificate is 'Sarah' as the mother...

Just noting that there are several public trees on Ancestry which have this man's place of birth as Bradford, Yorkshire

I put Thomas Bruce born 1832 England died Australia (no date) and I only got one tree.

It has been a long day so am I missing something?

Just in case the 1841 Thomas Bruce in Surrey with mother Sarah is yours I looked for Alice his sister in 1851 looking for clues :)
