HI

If you ring the cemetery they may be able to tell you were the grave is but if it's anything like Bilston you have to go there and ask the groundsmen the exact location.

hello DMP and treefreak,

I've spoken to someone at the cemetery at the beginning of the week.  they were very helpful and are sending me a map which hasn't arrived as yet.  I am visiting tomorrow (saturday) and the office is only open monday through friday, but I did phone back yesterday and they gave me a rough idea where to look.  I was hoping someone may have had a jpeg on their machine of the cemetery.  I've not been to stapenhill cemetery before, but if its anything like the cemeteries in sheffield, it will be like looking for a needle in a haystack.

thanks for the info.

regards,

andy

Hello,

Thank you for the reply. Yes i already have that map, from the council website.

No good i'm affraid.

Am after more detail, showing plot numbers etc to locate the graves i need.

Most cemetries have them and Coltman on this thread claims to have one??

Appreciate any help.

Go along to the cemetery and check the headstones themselves for plot numbers.

Not all will have a number carved on them, and you'll need to check back/front of the headstone/ footstone/surround, but it's usual to find enough with numbering to get your bearings.
