Walter Kirk prisoner 1901

I have Walter Kirk, born abt. 1860, Chesterfield and shown as a Prisoner in Derby Prison on the 1901 census.

My problem is I can find no record of his offence or length of sentence.

Does anyone have access to records which might show this?

You could try emailing

localstudies.library@derby.gov.uk

to ask  if they might have any appropriate records.  If they do, but won't do the look up for you, I could pop in sometime if you gave me all the details.
