Caldicot...booklet monumental inscriptions
« on: Thursday 05 January 12 19:22 GMT (UK) »
Hi there

Has anyone got access to an apparently out of print booklet about Monumental Inscriptions for Caldicot ?

My ancestor was the Rev Watkin Morgan who lived (and died) at Brook House Caldicot. He was buried there and at least one of his children (Thomas) was too.

Time-line is 1830/40s.
The Rev. died 1835,Thomas in 1843,two other children about 1830.

As always ,grateful for any help

If you don't get a lookup here then maybe a question to the local library there or to the local FHS will help.

I've just noticed that the OGRE has Caldicot down as 'Photographed and in progress' so you may find the monumental inscriptions there when they have finished.  Can't say how long it will be though.

thankyou for your answers.
I've seen that the FHS stills sells a fiche of the MIs at a reasonable price so that's  probably the best solution.

Sadly not a fiche reader anyway close by but I can solve that problem at a later date!

of which denomination was your chap an ordained minister?

There can be quite informative sources at various denominational archives.
