The marriage of Brewer and Maria would confirm that her older children listed in 1841 were born before that marriage and almost certainly with Felix BOURNE as the father.

The entries on FamilySearch are only submitted entries so are not necessarily reliable.

Thanks, Bev, this has been a good hunt!

Hi all, I think there are an awful lot of people out there with the name of Bouren, who when they go to do their family history will thank Bev for digging out their past.

Should they go through Rootschat for answers it will be much easier now.

Regards and I too enjoyed the chase ;D

No, thank you for your help in what has definitely been a most interesting  search!  :)

Just to tie up the loose end and say that I have found William O. Bourne's place on my tree - he was the 3 x great grandson of Daniel Bourne and Dorcas Ottaway, the couple who married in 1720.  I'm not sure what that makes him to me since I am their 7 x great granddaughter.

All the best

hi - I have read with the interest your comments on the Bouren - Bourne family and I have located some additional information that may be relevant. I would appreciate your thoughts .. you can find it over here - https://blackdiamondheritagecentrebulli.wordpress.com/bulli-history/who-were-the-men-and-boys-killed-in-the-1887-bulli-mine-disaster-of-1887/the-bouren-family-of-bulli/

I am President of a small museum in Bulli and each year we commemorate those lost in the Bulli Mine Disaster of 1887 including the 4 Bouren men.

Hello Kerrie

Thank you for that interesting link.
It fills in a lot of information on the later generations which I did not have.
It is really touching to know that after over 100 years, my ancestors, along with the other victims of this awful tragedy, are remembered with affection.

Best wishes
Bev
