Chambers Family Notts/Leics
« on: Saturday 07 January 12 00:55 GMT (UK) »
Hi there can anyone help me.

I have hit a brick wall with the following...

Born: 1862
Died:     Born in Nottingham

Occupation: Warehouseman

Comments: Living at 45 cross street oadby in 1891. Living at 63 chatsworth street leicester st margarets in 1901.
Spouse: Annie (Married)
Children: Fred Chambers, George(arthur?) A Chambers, William J Chambers, Millicent Mabel Chambers, <NoName>, Victor H Chambers, Joseph W Chambers

Now I have had some record lookups done for this but there are so many with the same name born at a similar time that I dont know which it could be. Does anyone have this family in their tree?

Thanks

Michelle

Hi Michelle

I have had a look for you and presume you do mean William Chambers as you have forgotten to put a name above born 1862?

Found him with his parents and siblings in Nottingham 1871 census

Joseph Chambers 38  chimney sweep  born Arnold, Nottingham
Mary                38
Joseph  aged 11
William             9
Arthur              5
Harriett          15
Emma               7
Eliza                 3

Living in the area of St Nicholas, Castle Ward at 3 Paddock Street.

When he is living at 63 Chatsworth Street, it also states on my
site he was born in the St Nicholas area of Nottingham. So I think
with this double check it must be your William.
Also he may have been buried at St Nicholas but I will have to
search for that as havent found where he was buried in Nottingham
yet.

Hi again

You mention Michelle that William died in Nottingham
Did you get his death certificate?
Just wondered if you knew what year he died?
I found a William Chambers died 3rd November 1923
His probate was issued on 1st January 1924. This William
left £1399.12s.7d. He had the address of
1 Arnold Street, Old Basford, Nottingham
Unfortunately, it doesnt say how old he was when he died ::)

Hi there Fluufychick

I was quite excited to see your post as this is part of my family tree, on my fathers side (Walter Chambers)

Just to let you know that Victor H Chambers was my grandfather - died in Leicester in 1947. He is one of the children of the man you are researching (my great-grandfather therefore). he is one of the children of the man /couple you are researching. I have the complete family tree back to 1792, researched by my father. Just let me know what you need to know and I will send it to you.

Hi Fluffychick

Just an addendum to what I wrote earlier - in case I dont go back on the site for a while..........
William Chambers (born 1862, died 1923) married Annie Blackwall who died in 1942.

They had 5 children, Fred (died 1903), Arthur, Joseph william, Millicent Mabel and Victor Henry.

Williams parents were Mary Falconbridge and Joseph Chambers married in Nottingham in 1854.

I have lots more info but too much to write here......maybe let me know which part of the tree you are particularly interested in.

Best wishes

Jane Ward (nee Chambers)
