REECE Family in Bristol
« on: Monday 09 January 12 11:12 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,

I'm hoping that I'm posting in the right place, as I get confused as to if Bristol is in Somerset or Gloucestershire but I'm looking for details of the Reece family who I seem to find a lot in Bristol.

From census records I've found them, but now I'm looking for parish records etc. Can anyone give me a hand?

William - b. 1816 (Spain, British Subject) - p.s what does that mean?
Eliza - b. 1816 (nee Phillips) Bristol St Stephens
Frederick - b. 1836 Bristol St Augustine
Mary - b. 1839 Bristol St Stephens
Annie - b. 1841 Bristol St Augustine
Eliza - b. 1842 Bristol St Augustine
Thomas - b. 1844 Bristol Temple
Benjamin - b. 1846 Bristol Temple
Caroline - b. 1848 Bristol Temple
Christina - b. 1850 Bristol Temple
John - b. 1852 Bristol
William - b. 1854 Bristol
Maria - b. 1856 Bristol

Thanks :)

British Subject means his parents were British, (or at least his father was) and even though he was born in Spain he was also a British Subject. British Nationality Act, 1772. Just to add that Bristol has never been in Somerset, historically it has always been in Gloucestershire, The Avon traditionally marks the border between Gloucestershire and Somerset.
