its just now deciding whih richard was edwards father

I think you are probably going to need the marriage certificate.  The 1841 has a couple of Edward Wait/es not living with family or in the county they were born in, either could be him.

You could try posting on the Yorkshire boards for a christening look up for Edward in Dewsbury.  ;)

i am cetain that the 1861 cenus showing edward born yorkshire is the right one
i cant find an edward on the 1851 census
as i am originally from dewsbury up to that point it links up

Mary dtr age 3 bn Dewsbury
Edward son 10 months bn Hesmon(don?) Yorkshire
John Robinson lodger unmarried 22 Carpet Weaver bn Dewsbury.

I think the whole district has been left off FindMyPast  ::)

Have you looked at other Waites bn Dewsbury around the same time as Edward.

Could they be Edwards parents?
