Looking for family of Catherine Doyle who later emigrated to Canada and married Stephen Brownrigg.  Did they have a census about 1821 or 1831?

Hello Peggy,

There is not an Irish Census available for either 1821 or 1831. Between both the British Government giving orders for the descruction of the census records of 1861, 1871, 1881 and 1891 pre 1922 and a fire at the Public Records Office in Dublin in 1922 a lot of valuable records were destroyed. There was a Census Substitute called Griffiths Valuation of Ireland which took place in every county in Ireland between 1848 to 1864. The next Irish Census available is that of 1901 followed by 1911.
