I can't find a birth for Samuel.  Either they forgot to register his birth or he was not their natural born child.  Perhaps the relative was correct with her information

SAMUEL SAINSBURY WILSON did indeed live in Carlton in 1919
149 Elgin Street with SIBITHA MABEL

In 1924 he is at Drummond Street Carlton with SIBITA

In 1931  he is at Geenwood Street, Coburg.

Found Sarah Wilson's probate - her estate went to her sisiter Eliza Jane DOW.

The documents say that her husband was a British Subject by birth and she has not changed her religion.

In 1924, ELIZA JANE DOW is in the house at 165 BARROW ST COBURG

One PETER GRAHAM DOW is the only other of the name in Coburg and he is at 81 BARROW STREET COBURG.

Still reading the Probate documents - all the affidavids - I wouldn't have liked to call it one way or another.

I suppose a birth certificate would have been the only proof.

I wonder if they "adopted" him and he never knew until she died.
 - either that or the aunt was lying.
