Sinnamon / Thompson from Northern Ireland
« on: Friday 13 January 12 19:20 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to trace any information on a Sinnamon who emigrated from Northern Ireland in the 1800s
and also a Jim (?) Thompson from Northern Ireland, related through his mother to Sinnamons,
who also emigrated to New Zealand possibly between 1930 and 1950.

These two sites will help you.
http://paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/cgi-bin/paperspast
It has a marriage for a Hugh Sinnamon in 1869 plus other articles for the surname which I didn't look at.

NZ BMD's at https://www.bdmhistoricalrecords.dia.govt.nz/home/

Hughes death is there in 1908 age 68 plus other simmanons birt death and marriages.

There are also  army records for an Albert Sinnamon and Alan Darcy Sinnamon WW1
John Edward Sinnamon and Allen Darcy Sinnamon WW11
Do you want the details?

Hello althea and crisane

Thank you for replying.          crisane ... any details which you have found would be much appreciated.

The only information which I have is of a Thomas Sinnamon, born in County Armagh Northern Ireland,
married to Nancy (Mills) and their children were:
John Wentworth  b. 23 Sep 1864
William Thomas A.  b. 27 Dec 1866
Mary Ann b. 5 May 1869
Susanna b. 12 Sep 1871
Elizabeth Jane b. 31 Mar 1875
Martha Eleanor b. 2 Oct 1877
Robert James b. 29 Jan 1880
Hugh Lockhart b. 25 July 1882
Anna Maria  b. about 1886
all in County Down or County Armagh in Northern Ireland.

It may be that one of Thomas's brothers, whose name I have not yet traced emigrated from Ireland to
New Zealand in the 1800s.

Thomas was born about 1830 in County Armagh, Northern Ireland, so a brother may have been
born, gave or take 10 years, of that year.
