 Tara,

Thank you so much. That must be him. I dont at this stage know the name of Richard McGuirk's father I am waiting for info from Louise who has just contacted me. I had guestimated that Sarah McGuirk was born about 1815 and I know now had my great grandfather Edward their only child born in Dublin in Booterstown in 1851. She could also have been the mother of Peter 1831. Louise tells me they were from Glendalough. I guestimated that Richard was born about 1802. From Deansgrange cemetry info Sarah died in 1870 at 55yrs and Richard died in 1878 at 76 yrs.

Hi, there are still McGuirks living in the Derralossary area, specifically in the townland of Tomriland.

Hello Del 101,

Thank you very much for this info. I have done very little search on the Wicklow connection for my McGuirks. Shane gave me details for parish records last January but I haven't been to the Library this year at all - I went off on a tangent doing my maternal side of the family!
If you are related to the McGuirks of Tomirland please PM me .
