Thank you Neale for posting the National Archive record. It has been journey for me piecing together what my grandfather and his five brothers did during their time in the British Army and Navy. Of the six boys William(this post) died at sea. John unfortunately deserted from his regiment in 1893. Edward died 12 April 1915 in Belgium, my grandfather was injured an luckily returned home as did George and Richard.
