Completed Thank You St. Nicholas, Great Yarmouth,Norfolk
« on: Sunday 15 January 12 16:33 GMT (UK) »
If someone has access to the St. Nicholas, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk parish registers, could they please check the following:

Baptisms:(Father Thomas, Mother Elizabeth)
William Becker (or Beckett) 23.08.1696
Ben Beckett 24.08.1698

Marriage:
Thomas Beckett m Elizabeth Nickelson 13.08.1693

These are on Family Search, but with no images of the actual registers.  I have browsed the Yarmouth Archdeacons Transcripts on Family Search and cannot find these dates on them.

Thank you.

Hi viv-val,

The parish registers for Yarmouth (with the images, courtesy of Family Search) do go back to the 1660's, but give little more information than you already have.

Still, it's good to see the "originals".  The marriage is here - https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-266-12350-8384-70?cc=1416598&wc=13675737

William Beckett's baptism is on image number 102, but very difficult to read, and I struggled to read Ben's baptism on 24.8.1698 - the page for that date is image no. 105.

You may find some more along the way!

Hi Yorkslass

Well, you are managing to teach me more about the new Family Search than anything else.  Thanks very much for pointing me in the right directions.  I haven't been doing my family history for a couple of years, and have just started to get to terms with the new, bigger and better Family Search facilities.

Thanks for all your help.

Hi again,

You're welcome.

We're very lucky, aren't we, that the LDS have made all these Norfolk records available - and free!
They're not indexed, which can make searching difficult - but I'm not complaining.  You've done very well to be so far back.

Good luck with your Becketts.
