Hello Gnu

I have a copy of the Visitation pages 425/427. So I have no problems about that. I will copy these sheets and put them up.

I had taken the visitation for granted and with the help of many taken a line back to Cynan, King of Gwynedd d 816 AD. But recently I was informed that Urian St Pier (on page 425 Vrianus de S'c'o Petro) married Agneta daughter of John de Brusse and had no sons, although the visitation gives a son Urian (MP for Shrewsbury 1413 etc) who married Johanna. Following on from that error I gathered that there were more errors, so I have come to a halt with my research hoping that somebody might put me back on track again.

Thanks

Jupiter

Hi again

You might have these but the Welsh sources may eventually provide extra information. I've not checked my Welsh sources yet but they're difficult to just 'jump into'

also, and more importantly,

Quote
The visitations produced a collection of pedigrees of families with the right to bear arms, recorded between the early 16th and the late 17th century, but in many cases extending much further back. Though they are indeed a valuable source, they must be used with great care, and confirmed from contemporary records wherever possible.

Hello Gnu

Very many thanks for all that info - now plenty of research to be getting on with. And also thanks for note about copyright. That had completely slipped my mind in my enthusiasm to continue.

I will let you know in due course how I get on with the St Piers.
