Teapot or Jug?
« on: Sunday 22 January 12 18:55 GMT (UK) »
I'm sure that this is just a jug, but I'm told that it is a teapot!!  ;)  Date of gift is 1834.

I've asked for a view of the base of the jug!

I vote for milk/cream jug as well. The markings on the base should help.

If you used it as a teapot I should think you would run the risk of being scalded every time you used it.
Best wishes, Judy :-))

That's never a teapot - needs a lid and a spout.  Most definitely a milk or cream just, I would think.

It looks like a Willow Pattern Cream/Milk jug is my guess.
Does it a have a strainer in the spout or a lip where a lid would rest?

Thanks everyone for confirming my views - that it is a jug of some description, and never a teapot - but when one is asked, one responds  :-* :-X  I'm still waiting to see if there is any mark on the base, which may or may not prove interesting.  In the meantime, thanks again  ;)
