Many thanks again, Jan!  Now, if only I could figure out the logic (if there was any!) used by the Swedish army, when they took it upon themselves to change the family name ...  ::)

If it was «Augustsson» I could have proposed an explanation, but I don’t  know really….

I don’t know if this new to you, but a deceased member of DIS Sweden has entered this information into the membership database:

It is not available on the internet, it is from Dis Norway/Dis Sweden's
Private membership database.

I think August Bruhn's funeral 1859 is in the middle here:

(Very faded and possibly water damaged...!)

I haven't been able to find the other entries referred to on Dis Sweden.
