Rev William Owen Marriage to Catherine Griffiths abt 1870 - Closed

Hi

There's a possible marriage that fits on the North Wales BMD at the Cathedral in Bangor to a Catherine Thomas in 1885

GRO index is Mar q, 1885, Bangor 11b 551

I think a birth certificate for one of the children might be in order first though - to ascertain Catherine's maiden name:

Elizabeth Rose (or Rosa)*  Owen,  Dec q, 1898, Ffestiniog, 11b 349

* unclear on the GRO page but Rosa on the North Wales BMD. If you order,  just put in Elizabeth  R Owen and the full ref to be on the safe side.

I will look into the 1885 m to Catherine Thomas -Bangor.

Also see if the children b certs confirm the maiden name as Thomas.

The parish records for theMary Catherine b 1889 Liverpool just show Catherine Owen

Just rec'd the b cert for Elizabeth Rosa Owen b 12th Aug 1898 at Llanfrothen
Mother Catherine Thomas, so will now apply for the marriage cert

Just rec'd the 1885 Marriage Cert of William Owen & Catherine Thomas, query now solved thanks to those who commented.
Certificate confirms the fact William was Clerk in Holy Orders & Catherine was a Thomas - her father Herbert Thomas - also located his family on the 1871 Census for Pistyll Caernarvonshire.
