familysearch.org has several hits for this family who are possibles:

As far as I can tell, there was a William Trevena (b. 1847  d. 1903 Karachi) married to a Hannah (b. 1851 d. 1893 Karachi)
Children:
Marion Coath Trevana (b. 1877 ? m. 1897 Karachi to Frederick Henry Snook, father given as William at marriage)
Percy Keart Trevana (b. 1887 Bombay d. 1907 Karachi)
Leonard Trevena (b. 1890 Karachi)

The name seems to come from Cornwall (by Tre, Pol, and Pen!)

Newspaper reference to Hannah's death (search Trevena and Karachi) at http://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/  suggests her father was Robert Coath of Liskeard.

The marriage is on freebmd:
William Trevena to Hannah Coath, 1874.  Unfortunately the christenings of the earlier children/possible children such as Marion, Annie Louise, and your Robert, do not appear to be online (yet?).  It's a strong possibility but you (or rather your friend) really needs that marriage certificate or something else that confirms Robert's parentage.

Wow you are a gem and my friend is currently looking for her stuff, I saw her on Saturday and she did say she had some certificates and I have emailed her to say I am stuck...but if that fits then I am no longer stuck my grateful thanks for helping out I have such a lot to learn about researching. As I am stuck on my own Tree and its been put on Rootschat and it looks like its a mystery and will likely remain that way. So I like to help others to get started as indeed I was helped about 10 years ago.

Its wonderful thank you so much....

I wonder if you could help lead me to the Indian stuff on Family.org as I am a user of it but obviously not enough to find Indian info. I tried World and then it did not seem to give much more choose in the other boxes.
