Schofield - Hunslet

Every few years......just on the off chance someone is doing a similar search or simply knows the answer I post this request.

Got to try I suppose

1827 6th June Sarah Ann Schofield was born. In Hunslet.

Her parents were Henry Schofield and Harriet Booth.

On the 26th July 1844 she had a son, Edward Schofield in Hunslet.

He was baptised on the 13th October 1844 in St Marys Hunslet.


There is no mention of a father. This is who I am looking for. I understand it is probably impossible but as I said its worth a try.

I am reasonably sure that Sarah Ann went on to marry an Andrew Bellamy on 25th September 1858.

Did Edward marry?
Who did he claim to be his father on the marriage certificate?

If there's no father mentioned on either birth or marriage certificate, there's not much you can do!
It will remain a secret!!

He married Elizabeth Ann Willans 1868 ish (have the date, just cant remember right now) and no Father mentioned there!!

You are right, there is not much I can do.

I only post this in desperate hope that someone who reads this was living next door at the time and remembers the scandal !!!!
