1851 census piece HO 107/1911 - can't find copy of original
« on: Friday 27 January 12 10:26 GMT (UK) »
I have found a transcript of a particular census entry on FreeCen but can't find a copy of the original  either free or on my subscription website A*

Does anyone know how I can view the original online?
On FreeCen the details are:
Piece HO 107/1911
Falmouth Cornwall
Civil Parish: Perranarworthal
Folio 15 Page 23 Schedule 87
Address Perran Wharf

Surnames on entry THOMAS, ODGERS, HOSKING

Thanks
Barb

Ancestry have made a mess of it (Never! I hear you all cry!)

The reference you have given sends you to Redruth Parish instead of Perranarworthal    ::)

Thanks everyone
Linda's comment on A* is on the money. I have informed them
I joined FindMyPast after KGarrard's comment
It is always nice to see the original - sometimes you pick up info that is not apparent from the transcript

Thanks! I think!! :-\

Personally I use both sites.
I prefer FindMyPast for census data (and they are amenable to corrections!), but Ancestry has some other databases, and is usfule for those "almost-fit" searches!

Incidentally, FindMyPast does sometimes make a mess - I recently had to inform them of wholesale changes to 1 particular family.
All corrected now.
