Thanks for this quick reply Osprey - I was not aware of Walter being a Crawley, so this all makes complete sense now....Walter and Elizabeth were not John Roberts but were Mary Ann Crawley's children but that of another 'unknown' father.   ::) A further mystery to solve!

it's possible that their baptisms may have more info. Matilda & Sidney were baptised at St James, Devauden, so the later children may been baptised as well. You'll need access to a copy of the regsiter for any extra info, a transcript may not help.
