Tommy Tew
« on: Saturday 28 January 12 03:37 GMT (UK) »
Just found a birth, but not much else regarding Tommy Tew.

NAME: Tommy Tew
MOTHER: Mary Ann Tew
FATHER: Frederick Tew
BAPTISM: 4 Jan 1885 - Hammersmith St Thomas

Oct-Nov-Dec 1884
Fulham 1a 233

His parents Frederick and Mary Ann both died 1890, and Tommy would of only been five years of age.  His sister Mary is found in care (age 7) at St Mary Islington Workhouse Infirmary in 1891, but no Tommy.
Any clues?  No census results for 1901 or 1911, had he also died young?
Would love a new set of eyes on finding him.

Have you found Frederick born 1880 Islington or any of them on the 1881 census?

Susy did say the parents had died 1890, there is a death for  Frederick in 1890 aged 38, d of b circa 1852

Death for  a Mary Ann 1890 aged   44 d of b circa 1846

I assume these are the parents of little Tommy

There is a Tomy Tew registered Dec 1884 Fulham, my guess is he should be Tommy

Thomas Ernest Tew reg 1885 Fulham

If, Suzy believes her Tommy's parents died in 1890 - and that is the correct then Thomas Ernest reg 1885 Fulham can be discounted as he appears in 1891 with both his parents(Thomas and Alice)  living in Hammersmith with sister Mary A

All ended up Ardwick, Manchester

Frederick and Mary Ann had seven children, and only three lived past infancy,...Tommy 1884,  Mary 1882  and one other son Frederick George who I believed died 1906 aged 26 (Islington), yet there is a Frederick George showing on the voters lists up to 1915 living at 67 Bride Street, Islington.

Mary may of married in 1904, either to a Alfred Henry Ensom or a William Greenwood.

If Tommy was placed into care, would he of been adopted?  Then he would have a different name by 1901.

Cheers
Sue

Looks like Alfred Ensom is with an Ellen in the 1911 census.
