... just found out his name is O'Sullivan not Sullivan, thank you

the O' prefix is optional, and the usage of this varied over time. It means 'descendent of' - similar to the way Mac or Mc means 'son of'

You can treat Sullivan and O'Sullivan as the same surname.

Family Search has several births to Michael Scanlan and Ellen Markham. These include 'Bat' born 1868.

Possibly just coincidence. Elsewhere on web, in family discussion, Bartholomew Scanlan believed to have gone to USA.

My first post  :)

My grandfather was Patrick Joseph Francis Osullivan born in 1921 and passed away in Hethe Bicester in 1993who moved to the uk and Married Kate Barrett.
His mother i think was Josephie?joyce Burke and father Micheal Osullivan.

Patrick had the following siblings
Nora, michael, Danny, Jerry Mary(moved to uk and became a cassidy) and Timmy

Timmy had two sons Andrew & Christopher who stayed in the limerick area.  Nora had a son Terry.

Any help would be appreciated
