FAMILYSEARCH - Old site vs New site
« on: Tuesday 31 January 12 11:52 GMT (UK) »
I haven't used Familysearch for a few days and just now I discovered that there is no longer the option to go to the old site. I still favour the old site and find it a lot easier to use.

Does anyone know if this is permanent? Not too happy ....  :(

If you mean this Ruskie, I save it to my bookmarks :

By doing this you can still have the best of both worlds.

Wonderful, thanks Pels!!!!  ;D

I used to have a shortcut to that page on my favourites bar, but when they changed the site, the link took me to the new site instead, so I'd have to go through a few steps to get back to the old site.  :P

Anyway, they appear to have now removed that link to the old site.

I'm so pleased that I can still access it.

Do you (or anyone else) know if they intend to retain the old site, or will they eventually remove it completely?

I just attempted to find a birth on the new site, and although I specified a birth in Durham, they offered me Yorkshire births. I suppose there is an exact matches only box which I failed to tick, but that never happened on the old site. It also doesn't inspire me with confidence when I am offered marriages occurring in Durhamshire.  ::)

I quite like the new site... once you get used to it.  Although the old site does have its good points too!

I would preferably like access to both
