Hi and welcome

If I've read it correctly, Edward is the father of George, b. Carlton.

I'm assuming you require info re., Edward.

The closest I can get with your info is...

Source, Settrington PR:
14 Jun 1703 Edward s. of Thomas Wright, Settrington, bap.

Source, IGI (Submitted record, family group):
14 May 1700 Thomas Wright & Lucy Key, Settrington, mar.
Birth about 1702 ? Wright s. of Thomas Wright & Lucy. Death, 2 May 1702.
14 Jun 1703 Edward, s. of Thomas & Lucy Wright, bap.
26 Feb 1706 (birth) Lucy, d. of Thomas & Lucy Wright. Note, this given as a birth and not a bap.

Source, Family Search:
11 Nov 1726 Edward Wright & Margaret Nicholson, Middleham, mar.

Source, IGI (Extracted record):
20 Feb 1731 George Wright s. of Edward Wright, Kirkby Malzeard, bap.

The fly in the ointment is that Settrington is in E Yorks. though I believe close to the N Yorks. border.

It may be that someone else reading this has access to more appropriate registers.

I hope you can get something from this.

Regards
Geoff

Hi and thanks for the info on Edward and family. From Edward's marriage onwards it matches exactly with and now verifies the details I hold.
Although I am now living near Alfreton in Derbyshire, my niece is living within a stones throw of Settrington and will be very interested to know what you have been able to find for me. Again, many thanks for your help as with the vague details from another family tree, I was somewhat lost and with no reliable references supplied.

I believe Edward Wright is my great grandfather x 4. The early information I have collected is mainly from the Coverham Parish records. I am decended from William, George's brother so we must be related.

Spent time at records office in Leeds on Monday. Edwards parents are more likely to be George and Dorothy Wright of Carlton. I was unable to find Edward's baptism because the records between 1709 and 1727  are missing but at least we know there were Wrights in Carlton at this time. There are baptisms for 3 children of Edward Wright. Hope this helps.

Hello
I believe that I am descended from Edward WRIGHT and Margaret NICHOLSON
from Carlton / Capplebank / Middleham
I'd be interested to know about George & Dorothy
Thanks in anticipation

I think George and Dorothy were Edwards parents as I found death entries for both in March 1743 in the Bishop's Transcripts for Coverham.
I also found a baptism for William Wright in 1709 in Coverham and father was George. I haven't found a baptism for Edward but as I said above the records are not complete.

I haven't as yet found any concrete evidence but I do think it is possible.
