Tried it on my other computer and it worked fine. Must be a problem with my laptop.
Thanks both of you for your help.

So that looks like all the children accounted for, but I still can't find Susan/Susannah in 1881.

There is this death

Susanna Taylor
Sept quarter 1880
Aged 55
Isle of Wight 2b 370

However in the 1871 census your Susannah was 40, which would mean she was born about 1831. This one would have been born 1825.

So we have a possible death for Susannah in Cowes in 1896 or on the island in 1880 and no 1881 census entry which would point to the 1880 being more likely. A 6 year age discrepancy doesn't seem that odd for this family.

That's what I thought, none of them seem to know when or where they were born, as it changes every census, so them not knowing how old their mother was would make sense. Again the only way to be sure would to get the certificate and hope one of the children was the informant.

Goodness knows where to start looking for her and James's marriage - they may not have even married just to confuse things further.
