Wonderful  thats the right man, now I wonder if he married Miss Crieghton there, and when did he come back.

It seems he married a Creighton but I can’t find the marriage in the UK  .

I found two marriage entries on Anc .com for Canada, but can`t access them, I wonder if thats him ?

Not his marriage I`m afraid.  Both of them are for the same people with different dates and are on Family Search.  His parents were Walter Cuthbert and Beatrice Butterworth. He married a Gertrude Mary Hickman and he was born Suffolk c1900.

Oh well, thanks,  I would have thought it was an uncommon name,  but it seems there are  Cuthberts with the same first names all over the place

The name "Lillian" wouldn't ring any bells would it ? Long shot really but there was a Lillian M Creighton born in 1907 Newcastle On Tyne who went to Canada in October 1929.    
Looks like at least 2 of the children are deceased - a son who also died in Scunthorpe (same as the father) and the daughter.
