Please would you be kind enough to help this old image. I wonder if anyone would kindly date it too please.
It's trimmed and stuck to a piece of blank card. nothing on the back.
Many thanks once again.  JohnCH.

It's trimmed and stuck to a piece of blank card.

We need to see the surrounding card, uncropped please.

Mens clothing is not easy to date, is it - most of my ref books are for posh chaps,  so a skilled worker (mason-bricklayer)  is even more difficult - were they up to date with their fashions or not?

The only thing that I can see that might be a clue (without the mount) are the deep cuffs on his jacket. I think that these were fashionable late 1860s- early 1870s, which would put him 20-25 if born Dec 1845. His trousers may also have clues that I can't recall in the early hours.

Night China  :)

Well, the odd crossed-leg pose is typical of the 1860s and early 1870s because it was an affectation designed to hide a wooden posing stand that kept the head still.

Not much to add to the date range, though...maybe if we could see the surround.
