The marriage did not actually take place in Ford.  When the LDS went through and recorded the registers I don't think they made a distinction between banns being called and the marriages.  Banns were read for Henry Wait of the parish of Norham and Elianor Henderson of this parish. In the section named "Banns read here but marriage not performed here" They were not married at Norham either.  Given the daur Elizabeth was baptised in the Presbyterian church they may just have gone across the border.

Marriages in those times did not include parents names.  Sometimes there are family members at witnesses but those are not identified as to relationship.

They have any children after 1798?

I have only so far located the baptism of the daur Elizabeth 26 Dec 1781 in Etal Presby.  Henry was a Steward in Tindle House.  Witnesses were Mrs Landels and Elizabeth Douglas.

Thank you so much for all that searching Janis.

The records do not make life easy either!

Re Henry, I am searching in the dark so far. I have little info on his early days and family as census info lacking. I am assuming that I have the correct marriage. Henry had 2 marriages.

Henry Waite had at least 2 children of, I assume, the first marriage
b1794 William Ogle Waite
b1797 Mary Waite
Two I know of from a second marriage (wife unknown)
b1802 Ann Waite
b1801 - 1808 Henry Waite (35-1841, 50-1851, 56-1861, 59-1868!)

Thanks again

Depending on where they were the baptisms of the second two childen may give mnore information.  It is pretty hit or miss in dissenter records.  What locale?

Hi Janis,

The only one I know for sure is William Ogle Waite  - Berwick on Tweed.
He will be from first marriage.
